After a comfortable victory over Everton in midweek, Tottenham plunged themselves into the media spotlight and went into the game aware that a win would see them draw level on points with at least one Manchester side at the summit of the Premier League.

So, 19 games played and we sit 3rd in the table with our best points tally since the legendary 60-61 season. Not too shabby is it and a position surely no-one would have foreseen after 2 games?

So how have the players fared that have got us into this position? Well here's my half term report so far for those that have featured enough to merit a mark:

Last Thursday I tweeted that I'd be disappointed if Tottenham weren’t perched in 3rd place come Tuesday morning. There was an element of chutzpah in there, but I felt that the long weekend could end up with a media love-in over us breaching the upper echelons of the league. And so it proved.
