Highlight: A majestic performance in Spurs home victory against the European Champions.
Lowlight: Picking up an injury just as he found his goalscoring form against West Brom.
Average We Are Tottenham Match Rating: 6.94/10

This technically-gifted midfielder began the season in fine form before picking up an injury which stopped him in his tracks just as he was running the show at the Hawthorns. Once he had left the field, Spurs were a much less impressive team, and this displays the influence that Modric can have on the side.

The Croatian took some time to regain his rhythm after his return from injury, but his importance to the team has reemerged as his fitness has improved. Central to Tottenham's wonderful wins against Inter Milan and Arsenal, Modric has shown that he can be a consistently quality performer in the centre of the park. He could very well fill the void left by Tom Huddlestone's absence with his playmaking skills, ability to glide past physically superior opponents and his eye for the penetrative pass. A strong start to the season overall and there could well be more to come in the form of goals, the lack of which is arguably the only real criticism one could level at him.
