Admittedly it can't be easy playing in a team so attack minded and also with a centre half pairing that is second choice and, early season at least, changes almost match to match, but only one clean sheet is quite clearly not good enough. We all know Gomes has the ability and on long range shot stopping he is up there in the league as one of the best. His handling of crosses has improved over last season too but still Spurs are conceding far too many goals, the Blackburn match at home being a case in point.

I do think Gomes should be Tottenham's first choice goalkeeper but on the form he has shown so far this season I'm afraid I won't be letting him shag my wife.  If it were not for the powder-puff conceded against Chelsea, the later penalty save would have got him closer though.
