Now, Aston Villa aren’t a typical target for Tottenham fans anger, they aren’t a local rival, there are no ex Yids playing for them and they haven’t given us a hiding recently. But, for me, I just can’t stand the Brummie bastards. I’ve nothing against Brummies per se; I’ve lived in the Midlands for almost half my life and get on well with plenty of them. 1. The Songs – boring as hell. They have about two songs that they sing once each during a game and then they have the nerve to try and drum up a chant of “We forgot that you were here” which about seven of them join in with! White Hart Lane may be a bit quiet sometimes when it isn’t going our way, but for them to try and mock the travelling Yid Army is hypocritical nonsense. Fuck off and keep singing that wanky song “Villa, Villa, Villa” three times a game. 2. The fans- Morons. Sing shit songs (see above) and racist to boot. Last year, at the local station near the ground I was in the unfortunate position of sharing a platform with all their fans as I was heading north. The anti-Semitic bile that was coming from large numbers of their fans was disgusting. Three or four coppers stood by laughing whist they said how they hoped the train to Euston on the other platform was going to Auschwitz and how “Hitler had it right.” Wankers. I’m sure the coppers/media/their fans wouldn’t have been laughing had we made some wide reaching generalization about the number of people from Birmingham who are Asian. 3. The Holte End – It’s nothing special, it isn’t that noisy, and it’s quieter than the Park Lane, the Stretford End, the Kop, the Boothen End and my local library. 4. Martin O’Neill – Yes I know he isn’t there anymore but he just fuelled my dislike for the ‘Villains’. A whingy, overrated, angry little man. What has he really achieved? Yet everyone wanks off about how he should manage England or Man Utd. What a load of bollocks, I could win the league with Celtic in Scotland. 5. Their style of Football – For a team with so many ‘flair players’ in Young, Downing, Agbonlahor (or however you spell it), Petrov, Albrighton they still have to rely on booting it to Heskey or Carew and playing rubbish long ball football that they dress up as “counter attacking football” because Young can run fast. 6. Overrated Players – Young….one good season and suddenly everyone thinks he is world class, give over! He falls over more than Ronaldo but doesn’t have even half the talent. Agbonlahor …. Fast but never an England striker. Darren Bent is better and that’s saying something. Milner…. 26 million quid, you’re having a laugh (Rafa for 8 million puts that into perspective), It says a lot for their quality that they have been chasing players like Keane, Jenas and Bentley for the last two years. 7. Their Kit – reminds me of West Ham, enough said. 8. Their claims of being a big club – Can’t even get past the qualifying round of the Europa League. Two years running. Telford United could qualify for the group stages of that two bob competition. Come back when you have something to boast about. 9. Their Recent History – full of bellends like Doug Ellis, Nigel Reo Coker, John Gregory, Gareth Barry, David O’Leary and Martin O’Neill. All of them piss me off for various reasons. 10. They hate ‘Arry – and I love him!
All in all, there isn’t much to like about them. Matches between us and them have been interesting, tight affairs recently though (think back to the 4-4 draw at the Lane in 2007 and the two draws last year), and it should be another good game at the weekend. Both teams have struggled for consistency so far this term and will be hoping for a win to get their season started. Spurs come into the game on the back of a 4-1 win in Europe’s premier club competition, whilst Villa have had a week off because they aren’t good enough to be in Europe.
